Ishmael

For 13 years Abraham had considered Ismael to be his heir and had treated him that way.  He viewed Ishmael as the one who would carry on the family name.   The whole camp saw him spending special time with Ismael and grooming him to be the next patriarch.   What about Ishmael’s character?  He did mock Isaac later – maybe that was the first sign.  And in his wilderness years did he ever make an altar?
